Dolphin Island (MOAP), Misamis Occidental

We always heard about the Dolphin Island from friends that it was a nice place for snorkeling....April 26, 2011, My Husband, and I went to the Dolphin Island with his son, Oscar.

From Dipolog to Tudela, Misamis Occidental, it takes 3 hours with Rural Transit Bus.. it´s been quite long boring trip on the Highway, and tiring at the same time... we arrive just time for lunch ( but we dont feel that hungry since we had some bread with us ) and from the highway, takes 10 mins walk going  to the entrance of Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park (MOAP).

Its Possible to ride by motorcab also from the highway to the entrance but we prefer walking under the sun...
They had cultures fishes, shrimps, prawns, bangus, and they had widlife also. If you wish to stay longer there, they had cottages just around the mangrove trees. We checked in there for a night
( suite room for P2,995.00/ night) and decided to check the Dolphin Island.
It takes about 15 mins walking at the constructed path going to the pumpboat station ( they said before the bridge connecting from the mainland to the pumpboat area was made from bamboo but it was destroyed by typhoon so they replaced with concrete instead).

Its cost P300/ head with the boat ( back and forth) and should be 6 person every trip with pumpboat ( if you are less than 6 persons, they ask additional P300, so better early there and wait for more people instead, if you are little bit out of budget).
From the mainland, takes about 20 mins by pumpboat to the dolphin Island, They had nice restaurant there, you can feed the dolphins, and you can swim with them. We experienced also snorkeling there, was ABSOLUTELY nice for snorkeling, you can feed the fishes underwater also, and once you do that, they always surrounds you and feels so nice, you could even almost hold them swimming around you. they had big clamps also...
They said that the  Four (4) dolphins are a fishermen´s rescue dolphins. They had also names but i just remember Jessie, Osting, and Mario ( forgot the other one).

The Last trip with the boat back to the mainland is 5pm always.
And when you get so hungry, they had nice PALAYAN Restaurant 50 meters from the entrance gate of MOAP. We tried their Halo-halo, it was very good :D

Dipolog to Tudela ( P170/ head)
Suite room rate    ( P2995/ night)
pumpboat V.V,     ( P300/ head)
affordable food :D
